Artist Feature: Zak
I am so intrigued by this young star. He is making his way in the music industry by supplying us with quality music with a great tone and great swag. He is so great at what he does. He is a great kid with a great talent at creating good quality music. His new hot single called “Green Girl” Is such a great unique and tasteful song. He is able to illustrate great authentic instruments and sounds in his music, delivering outstanding music. His name is Zak Fleisher, the 22 year old Australian, is a multi-instrumental talented singer songwriter. Starting the guitar at age 7, there has been no looking back since.
In his formative highschool years, Zak was the lead singer, guitarist and songwriter in the band The Plugs which enjoyed much competition success and achieved national radio play on Triple J Radio in which presenter, Alex Dyson, reviewed a track saying “sometimes I don’t like writing reviews because the artists seem to know a lot more than me about writing great tunes than I do”.
After the Plugs disbanded, Zak formed a two piece rock and roll/blues band called “The Itch”which achieved good local success in Western Australia, including radio play on RTR Fm and ECU radio Perth.
After The Itch, Zak joined the blues rock trio called “Ego”in which, although it was only a short time, they achieved a rocking reputation on the local scene. Rocklobster blpgspot described EGO saying “Their originals were as energetic and captivating as their well-rehearsed covers. Swaying and grinning patrons appeared stoked with this band”.
In late 2015, Zak decided that it was time to take the leap of faith and play solo, playing shows in Western Australia, Denver, Las Vegas and Vancouver in his pursuit to realize this ultimate dream. Zak’s brand of catchy, edgy easy listening alternative blues, folk rock is something to not be missed. With influences branching form the likes of Mac Demarco, The Black Keys and Muse, Zak is a diamond in the rough and unlike any artist you’ve ever heard or seen. With a capitaving stage presence, catchy good tunes and a quirky Australian charm, Zak is an act not to be missed!!
Here is Zak words on his song Bio: “Green Girl” has 2 meanings to the song. The first is the story of how I had to leave this summer camp I was working on and because of the visa situation, not being allowed back into the United States. The reason this is significant is because this would mean I would not be able to see my girlfriend again, who I met on camp and who lives in the US. The other meaning behind the song is a message to my girlfriend to tell her to follow her heart and make her own decisions with her life.
